With a message of peace, tolerance and brotherhood, the IMS Unison University celebrated 71st Independence Day in the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. R.K Pandey, Registrar B B Pant, Deans of all schools, faculty members and the University staff in attendance. The celebrations commenced with the customary unfurling of the national flag, followed by the National Anthem. The ‘Wall of Heroes’ consisting of pictures of Param Veer Chakra awardees was inaugurated by Dr. Pandey.  In his address the Vice Chancellor opined that, democracy has taken deep route in India. If India wishes to create its own development story, it must strive to inculcate scientific temper and rid itself of prejudices and social evils deeply entrenched in the fabric of our society.  He called upon the students to ensure that in the coming decades they play a vital role in transforming India into the global superpower that was envisioned by the leaders of our freedom movement. To mark the importance of this day, a colorful cultural program was organized by the students. The program saw the students performing enthralling patriotic dances and songs. A documentary depicting a brief history of India’s march towards independence was screened. Other programs included a skit on the discriminatory practices prevalent in India.
