Eligibility Criteria:

55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Uttarakhand OBC (non-creamy layer / differently abled) candidates in aggregate at Post Graduation level with a valid NET / SLET/ SET score along with a consistently good academic record.
OR
Diploma courses which are considered equivalent to Master Degree (e.g. PGDM from IIMs or approved by AICTE/UGC/AIU) with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. In such cases, candidates would be required to produce the necessary certificate(s) from competent authority.
OR
A Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55% marks or equivalent and minimum 5 years of work experience.
OR
For Foreign Nationals eligibility shall be as per UGC/AIU guidelines/rules.

After filling the "Enquiry Form" the candidate is required to fill the "Application Form" and pay an application fee of Rs. 1250/- online through Debit Card / Credit Card /Net Banking. On successful payment of application fee, a receipt will be generated by the system. You will have to save this application number for all your future reference. You are required to scan and email this receipt to admission@iuu.ac along with the scanned copies of all the documents required.
 
 
 
 
 
The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstance whatsoever. Application to a Program does not guarantee admission.
 
After the successful application to the Program chosen, our admission team will check the seat availability and your eligibility for the admission. If you will meet with the admission criteria, you will be contacted to proceed further as per the Admission procedure of the chosen program.
 
You shall remain in constant touch with our Admission office to know about the status of your admission application.
 
 
Admission Process:

a) Entrance Test
Admission in Ph.D Program will be through a screening of candidates through a Written Entrance Test conducted by the University or any other equivalent test such as JRF/NET/SLET/GATE etc. The candidates possessing M. Phil (Mass Comm) or/ Pre Ph.D course work in Mass Communication from any recognized University will be exempted from entrance test and Pre-Ph.D course.

b) Preparation of Merit List
Merit list for admission to Ph.D program shall be prepared by Department according to the following criteria:-

30% weightage to the percentage marks of Master's Degree Examination.

30% weightage to the entrance test score of IUU/JRF/NET/SLET/GATE/any other equivalent exam.

40% weightage to the personal interview, which will be conducted by a Panel of experts at IMS Unison University, Dehradun (Preference would be given to the candidates with good publication records such as books, papers in National/ International Journals and paper presentation experiences in National/International Conferences and those with prior teaching and research experience or candidates from industry having made exceptional contribution in their area of work would be given an important consideration).


c) Sponsorship
Merit list for admission to Ph.D program shall be prepared by Department according to the following criteria:-

i. In the Ph.D Program, 2 seats have been reserved under the sponsorship category. In case, no sponsored candidate is available then the reserved seats may be converted to general seats.

ii. The candidates seeking admission under this category need to furnish the necessary certificates from their respective organizations, well in advance of the written examination.

iii. The candidates seeking admission under this category need to appear in all the stages of the admission process along with the general category candidates, and also fulfill the eligibility criteria.

iv. A separate merit list of the sponsored candidates will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and interview.
