The School of Liberal Arts Psychology department organized a session for the students B.A 3rd and 2nd year. The theme of the session was ‘Applications of Counseling Techniques’ conducted by Dr. Rashi Bhatnagar where the event begins with self-assessment activities, initially students were made to assess themselves in the scale from 1 to 10 followed by the interaction made by the psychologist to express two qualities of their fellow mates to assess their observational skills. The second activity conducted for the students were asking about Miracle questions in which students were asked to write down about what they would like to change in their life . Then some lucid explanations of some broad ideas like usage of eclectic approach in counseling rather than sticking to traditional single approaches; the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA); And the importance of handling tough situations in family situations in family therapy and child counseling. An interactive session was also held where the students resolve the queries of differences between the counseling and what appropriate techniques should be applied, students asked questions like challenges faced by the counsellor in dealing with children. To summarize the session lots of playful activities like SWOT analysis was also done so that students can gain some insights and learn things on a longer not. At the end question and answer session was also conducted to clarify the doubts of students followed by Vote of thanks was delivered by Miss Harsha Tyagi.
