SCHOLARSHIP POLICY 2026-27

Scholarship applications will be entertained only for admissions taken by 31st July 2026, with full fee payment and meeting the eligibility criteria. Scholarships are not applicable on Ph.D. programmes.

A. Domicile Applicable for permanent residents of respective states/region on production of Proof of Domicile. For SAARC Countries, a valid passport or citizenship card is required.

B. Merit-Based Scholarships C1 | UG Programmes – First Year OnlyAggregate percentage of Class 12th in Year 2026 will be calculated on the basis of marks scored in English & three academic subjects (compulsorily including subjects of eligibility and excluding Physical Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts or any Vocational/Non-Written subjects). No rounding off shall be done. This scholarship shall not be given to a candidate having any backlog at the time of admission. Students having grades instead of marks must submit an equivalence certificate from their institution; otherwise the University shall convert grades into marks using its own rules.

C2 | 2nd Year Onwards – Academic Year 2026Eligible for students who have not failed in any subject in the 1st Year and have not been debarred due to shortage of attendance / indiscipline and have not been found indulging in any indiscipline matter or violation of law within the campus or outside.

2 8.50 – 8.99 15% One Year Only
3 9.00 – 9.49 25% One Year Only
4 9.50 and above 50% One Year Only
D. Wards of Martyrs – Defence / CAPF Personnel Required documents: Discharge Book and Martyrs Certificate

Scholarship Norms:

  • University scholarship is not a matter of right and is granted under the sole prerogative of the University.
  • Merit-based Scholarship shall not be awarded in the following cases:
    1. Merit Based Scholarship is not given on repeat of an academic year.
    2. Students failing in any subject.
    3. Having shortage of attendance.
    4. Indulging in acts of indiscipline.
    5. Convicted in any court of law.
  • Scholarships under Clause C(1) shall be awarded for the first year only. Students may claim scholarship from the second year onwards only as per Clause C(2), subject to fulfilment of all scholarship norms.
  • Any and all scholarships shall be withdrawn in case a student violates any University Rules, Ordinances and Policies as laid down in the Student Handbook. In such cases the student shall be liable to pay back any scholarship amount already availed.
  • A student may apply for the scholarship provided by the Social Welfare Department of their respective State. Such scholarships are disbursed directly and there shall be no onus on the University to liaise. If the student opts for this, he/she will be not eligible for any other University scholarship.
  • The University reserves the right to alter or withdraw the scholarship without any explanation or notice.
  • Scholarship seats are limited — awarded on a first come, first served basis.
  • Candidates eligible for scholarships must submit an application form to the Office of the Registrar with all relevant documents within the dates announced by the University. In the absence of relevant mark sheets, applications will not be considered.
  • The decision of the Vice Chancellor on any matter relating to the University Scholarship Policy shall be final and binding.
  • All disputes are subject to Dehradun jurisdiction.
