Webinar on ‘Digital Journalism’ organized by the School of Mass Communication

The School of Mass Communication organized an informative webinar on the topic ‘Digital Journalism’ as part of the SOMC webinar series on November 6. 

An alumnus of School of Mass Communication, Mr. Shivam Pandey, Correspondent at Times Now, and former journalist with AajTak News Channel, was the resource person of the webinar.

Mr. Shivam Pandey began his session with a short interaction with the students, explaining the concept of Digital Journalism. He elaborated on how Digital Journalism is interchanging and evolving with the growth and proliferation of the internet and technological devices. He spoke about the concept of Trending stories, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and the role and required skills of a Digital Journalist. 

He emphasized the importance of reading newspapers and watching news channels to keep oneself updated about the latest national and international events. He discussed the workings of Digital News organizations and how they process filter, edit, and disseminate news. 

The webinar then proceeded with a Q&A session. Mr. Pandey happily answered each and every question raised by the inquisitive students. The webinar then concluded with a vote of thanks.
