Workshop on Towel Origami

School of Hospitality Management on it's Activity Day organized workshop on Towel Origami. Ms Kavita Rawat , Assistant Professor -SoHM was the resource person for the workshop.
Towel art or Towel Origami is believed to be inspired by origami, is the art was popularized by Carnival Cruiseliners in the 1870's wherein towels folded in different kinds of cute and lovely animal shapes were used to welcome guests when they arrived in their room to engage better with their guests and adds a sense of personal touch to guests. It's a creative and entertaining way to convey to the guests that "we care". Nowadays, towel art has gone mainstream as a hobby and creative indulgence. 

The workshop trained the participants on certain basic  techniques to be kept in mind while folding fabrics.The classical Swan pair, Elephant,Rabbit, Tortoise, hanging Monkey , Rosette and Muffin  figures were folded in the practise session of the workshop. The workshop also trained on basic folding of various towels to be kept in Guestroom/ Guest Bathrooms.
