In pursuit of academic excellence and better industry placement, the IUU School of Media & Communication Design is well-equipped with the latest technical infrastructure and production facilities. Classrooms are well equipped with LCD Projectors and audio-visual systems. The school is constantly seeking to upgrade its state of the art production facilities in order to keep pace with the changing technological demands of the profession.

Computer Lab

Computer Lab is well- equipped with the latest version of computers with 100% backup and Internet facility. It is fully air conditioned and well designed to work comfortably. All the PCs have advanced configurations and advanced software of Microsoft Office 365. Students are trained in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and Outlook. The goal of computer education is to make students more creative, imaginative and skilled technologically which is an essential prerequisite for a career in the field of Media & Communication Design.

Video Editing Lab

Video Editing Lab provides state-of-the-art facility to students for video production that serves the current needs of broadcast journalism and television production. The lab is fully equipped with computers having the latest versions of video editing software used in industry. The instructor station in the editing lab is identically equipped and connected to projectors and sound systems for comprehensive audio-visual training. The lab is designed with a view to make students understand the concept of editing and encourage them to explore their creativity and test their skills at video making.

Television Lab

The school has a fully air conditioned and soundproof Television Lab which is equipped with latest cameras for television production. The lab has an inbuilt news studio with chroma and teleprompter connected with Production Control Room (PCR) for managing production activities. The students are given hands-on training in news reading, anchoring, panel discussion and other studio based television program production during the course of practical sessions.

Print Media lab

Print Media Lab is fully equipped with latest computers, up-to-date software and provides access to 24*7 internet connectivity. The lab is designed with a view to provide practical learning based on sound theoretical knowledge by experts. The students during the course of study learn about writing news stories, articles, features, photo captions etc. A team of students works assiduously and tirelessly on preparing and designing the campus newspaper ‘Unison Times’ every month in order to understand the nuances of newspaper reporting, writing, editing and designing.

Radio Lab

The Radio Lab is a beautiful amalgamation of aesthetics and state-of- the-art technology where the students get exposure to both creative and technical aspects of radio production. It provides hands-on practical experience through various exercises. The creative aspect helps the students to understand script writing whereas new technologies upgrade them with professional skills to survive and flourish in the news and entertainment industry.

Digital Photography Lab

The Digital Photography lab of School of Media & Communication Design provides exposure to all types of digital cameras and digital technologies, enabling the students to convey their feelings on the canvas. An in-depth study of frame composition and exposure triangle gives the students a well- trained eye for picture creation.
